One Month In

It's been four weeks since I started writing here — one post at a time, one small piece of this life laid out for anyone who wanted to read it. I said at the start that I wasn't going to argue for one side of any of this. Not searching versus searching, adoptive versus foster versus birth, better versus worse. I still believe that. I think this whole community has room for every version of the story, and I'd rather build something that holds all of them than something that only speaks to one.

What I didn't expect was how much writing it down would clarify things I'd been carrying around unexamined for years. Some of these posts started as a single sentence I'd said out loud once, in passing, and didn't fully understand until I sat with it here.

So — thank you, if you've been reading. If something in the last few weeks put words to a feeling you'd had and hadn't named yet, I'd love to hear which one. And if you're new here: welcome. This is a place for adoptees, foster parents, adoptive parents, and birth families to read something true about a piece of their story, without being asked to pick a side.

There's more coming. I'm not close to done.
